Confidence vs Self-Confidence

Lots of my clients come to me wanting more confidence and belief in themself and that they can really achieve the goal they have, and I help them create that. One of the first things I teach them is that there is a difference between confidence and self-confidence.
Confidence is something we already have in our ability because we’ve already done the thing so many times we’ve mastered it.
I like to think of pouring water. I bet we are all confident in doing that. We don’t make spilling mean we can’t do it. We just clean it up and pour again.
Buying milk. I’m confident I can do that. If the store relocates the milk to a different area I don’t make it mean I suck at buying milk I just figure it out. I have the confidence and belief that I can because I have so many times.
Self-confidence is what we have to develop when we are doing new things and going for new goals. We have to build self-confidence by being willing to fail or do things wrong. We build it by learning to make decisions and commit. We build it by learning to have our own back and feel crappy emotions.
We typically can’t find self-confidence from the past because we are creating something we have never created before. We have to look to the future for what is possible.
As we increase our self-confidence we become more confident. It requires courage and it’s completely worth it.

Of course I felt pride but I also felt lots of love.

The fact is I love my clients.

💕I love helping them see how they are creating the results they have and how to create the ones they want.

💕I love helping them believe in themselves.

💕I love helping them believe in themselves.

💕I love believing in them when they forget to believe in themselves. 

💕I love what I learn from them and how they help me become a better coach and person.

💕I love thinking about them individually throughout my day and how I can support them even more. 

💕I love watching them become the person who they see themselves as becoming now. 

💕I love celebrating them and helping them celebrate themselves and see their awesomeness.

💕I love reminding them of who they really are when they forget.

💕I love teaching them how to make new decisions even better decisions, how to trust themselves, and how to love themselves.

💕I love helping them see all the possibilities. 

💕I love helping them get out of self-doubt and confusion and into more courage and confidence.

And I'm proud of each of them for showing up, for prioritizing them, for doing hard things, and for investing in themselves and their goals and dreams because most women don't. 

It's work I've done and I'm doing. It's why I will never stop investing in me and my goals and dreams with my coach.

A belief, AKA paradigm is created from the thought A belief, AKA paradigm is created from the thoughts we think over and over. We walk around all day long stating our beliefs and we rarely bother to question them to see what they are creating in our lives.

Today I want to share with you how to challenge your beliefs and your thoughts. Why? Because every result we have in our relationship, health, weight, career, business, life is a manifestation of what is taking place in our mind.

That says it all. Our thoughts and beliefs are worth noticing so let's dive in.

A great way to challenge them is to TUNE IN using these prompts.

Begin by just dumping the thoughts and beliefs down on a piece of paper. I call this a brain dump.

Next, choose one thought or belief and take it through the T.U.N.E.I.N model.

T- Is it TRUE? We often say things like they are facts because we believe them to be truths when in reality they are just thoughts we are thinking. Let's use the example of "I don't have time". This was a thought I truly believed at one time. I'd say it often. I'd state it as fact. I didn't question it. Is it true? Do you really not have time or is it just not a priority? What IS true?

U- Is it USEFUL to think this way? If we stick with the example above, how does it help you in life to believe that you don't have time? Does it move you forward in your life? 

N-Is it NECESSARY? Once you know what you are thinking and believing you can decide if it's necessary to keep thinking and believing it. "I don't have time" is not necessary or constructive in any way. Once you know if your thought/belief is necessary you can ask yourself, "Why am I choosing to continue to think this?" "What purpose does it serve?" When you are courageous enough to ask these questions you'll likely find the answer to why you've held onto the thought/ belief.

E- Does it EXCITE you to take action? Does it inspire you? Believing you don't have time likely keeps you stagnate and stuck. When you believe this you don't create time. You aren't open to other ideas about time. You're not inspired to look at and choose how you prioritize your time.

The work I do applies to any goal and I love to make it fun. I ask myself fun questions and think fun thoughts things like: how can I make this fun for them and me? how can I have fun now? what would be fun? this is going to be fun? I love having fun with people.  Whatever you’re doing today decide and go make it fun.

I remember believing the thought "It's not working I remember believing the thought "It's not working".

I thought it was a fact.
I thought I was being realistic.
I could give lots of proof that is wasn't. 

Then I  had a coach show me what that thought was creating.

When I thought "It's not working" I felt frustrated and defeated. I would quit taking action, shop, eat.

I would tell myself the story that I didn't know enough and start looking for more information. I would stop projects, take a break and I feel self-doubt and confusion.. 

You know what my result was and is everytime I think it?

I don't work. I don't do the work on me, my mind, or my goal.

If I do any work it's from obligation vs. fun and wanting to serve, and then I definatly don't do my best work or get the results I want.

The funny thing is when I think the thought "It's working" I feel excited. I find evidence of all the things that are working. I get inspired to take more action toward the goal. 

I run toward the goal rather than away from it. I feel certain and confident. 

And of coarse it works.

When I turn in and go to work on my mind it always works. 

The changes required to get the results I want or the results I don't want are always the result of what's taking place in my mind.
